Richard Adam Dabrowski at 100 -  Designer, Sculptor, Illustrator

 This multimedia exhibition chronicles the life and career of Richard Adam Dabrowski. Born  in New York City in March 1912, he studied privately before attending the National Academy of Design.  His first work in New York City was commercial sculpture for the leading 5th Avenue department stores.  After serving as a Captain in the Signal Corp on Adak in World War II, he settled in New Hampton, New Hampshire and began a pottery business manufacturing pieces in a kiln on his own property.  From there, he and his family moved to Concord, MA and later Cohasset.  Thoughout this period, Dabrowski illustrated for the local newspapers and pursued other artisitc ndeavors such as mapmaking and book illustrations.  In 1984, he moved to Kennebunkport where he has continued to work in white line engravings, sculpture and handmade wooden jig saw puzzles.
